Transcontinenta Group And Degreef & Partner are Joining Forces

Degreef & Partner are merging with the Transcontinenta Group to further strengthen their leadership position in Western Europe.

The leading Dutch photo and video distributors Transcontinenta Group and Degreef & Partner have agreed to merge within the Transcontinenta Group. The merger of both companies will create an even stronger, modern and future proof organization in the photo, video and mobile accessory market in Western Europe.

The new combination offers excellent long-term prospects in the competitive imaging market for both the brands it represents and its customers. The Transcontinenta Group and Degreef & Partner have very similar core values and are therefore a perfect match.

In recent years Degreef & Partner has focused on expanding its brand portfolio as well as our sales activities to France, Germany and Austria. We have succeeded in this thanks to our successful marketing and the flexibility and commitment of our loyal team. The merger with the Transcontinenta Group is a logical step in strengthening our European ambitions,” says Matthieu Mureau, CEO and owner of Degreef & Partner.

The merger will enable the Transcontinenta Group and Degreef & Partner to compete more effectively. This requires, by definition, scale in order to be able to invest more in employees and technological innovations. Thanks to the increased scale, customers in the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Western Europe can be better served. The new combination will enable the Transcontinenta Group to respond quicker to the changing needs of brands, customers and the requirements of the competitive imaging market, today and in the future.

“We are proud that with this merger we can further expand and strengthen our unique position in Western Europe. Both companies know each other well given their long history in the imaging market and share the same vision of the rapidly changing European market. In this highly competitive and consolidating market, we will soon be able to represent the brands even better and offer an even higher level of service to our customers. We are convinced that together we can optimally realise our ambitions and we cannot wait to take the Transcontinenta Group to the next level.,” adds Gerrie Geijssen, CEO and co-owner of the Transcontinenta Group.

The coming months will be spent on the optimal integration of the Degreef & Partner brands, activities and employees into the Transcontinenta Group. This means, amongst other things, that the Degreef & Partner office in ’s- Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, will close its doors in the middle of 2022. The merger will result in a company with a turnover of over 65 million EUR and a total of over 90 employees. Matthieu Mureau joins the Transcontinenta Group management board as a shareholder. Rob Degreef will remain actively involved in the Transcontinenta Group as well.

Ateles Films has been sponsored by Degreef & Partner since 2015 and we are ambassadors of the brands Lowepro, Leofoto and H&Y filters. It was a very great collaboration and we really appreciate all the support that Degreef & Partner gave us during the last years.
